(Ephesians 2:8-10, NLT) “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
(Philippians 2:13, NLT) “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
1. Delight in the Word of God
(Psalm 119:103, NLT) “How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.”
(Jeremiah 15:16, NLT) “When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight”
(2 Timothy 3:16-17, NLT) “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
2. Be intentional with your thoughts
(Philippians 4:8, GNT) “my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable.”
- Safeguard what you allow in
- Invite God into your day
(Mark 1:35, NLT) “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.”
(Isaiah 26:3, NLT) “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
3. Persuade others to acts of love
(Hebrews 10:23-24, NLT) “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
- Encourage one another
(1 Thessalonians 5:11, NLT) “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
- Continue to gather together
(Hebrews 10:25, NLT) “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
