“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

GOD IS GREATER THAN YOUR FEARS

1.  The Promise of God’s Presence

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So, we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea” (Psalms 46:1–2, NLT)

God’s presence is present tense

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NLT)

“Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20, NLT)

“The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6, NLT)

2.  The Promise of God’s Relationship

“Do not be discouraged, for I am your God” (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

He chooses and befriends us in Christ

“But, as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend” (Isaiah 41:8, NLT)

“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me” (John 15:15, NLT)

3.  The Promise of God’s Power

“I will strengthen you and help you” (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

God strengthens the weak

“Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31, NLT)

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit” (Ephesians 3:16, NLT)

“Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory” (Colossians 1:27, NLT)

“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT)

4.  The Promise of God’s Grip

“I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

God’s sustaining grip

“Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand” (Psalm 37:24, NLT)

The victory of the cross

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57, NLT)

“Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power. Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy” (Exodus 15:6, NLT)

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39, NLT)
