(Matthew 8:2–3, NLT) “Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.”
1. GOD HEALS IN DIFFERENT WAYS.
a. By natural means.
b. By medicine.
c. By prayer.
2. JESUS HEALS TODAY.
(Luke 6:19, NLT) “Everyone tried to touch him, because healing power went out from him, and he healed everyone.”
a. He never changes.
(Hebrews 13:8, NLT) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
b. He keeps his promise.
(1 Corinthians 1:9, GW) “God faithfully keeps his promises.”
c. He uses us.
(Acts 3:16, NLT) “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”
1. Pray with faith.
(James 1:6, Message) “Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves.”
2. Lay hands on the sick in Jesus’ name.
(Luke 4:40, GN) “Jesus … placed his hands on every one of them and healed them all.”
3. Ask the elders to anoint with oil.
(James 5:14, NLT) “Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.”
GROWTHWORK
1. GOD WILL HELP YOU TODAY.
(Isaiah 41:10, NLT) “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
2. GOD WILL GIVE YOU PEACE.
(Psalm 31:20, NCV) “You protect them by your presence.”
(Psalm 16:11, GN) “Your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.”
3. GOD WILL PULL YOU THROUGH!
(Isaiah 43:2–3, NLT) “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
(Psalm 25:12–14, LB) “Where is the man who fears the Lord? God will teach him how to choose the best. He shall live within God’s circle of blessing, and his children shall inherit the earth. Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him. With them alone he shares the secrets of his promises.”
