(Romans 1:3–7, NLT) “The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.”
1. GOD’S HEART IS TO BLESS HIS PEOPLE WITH HEALTH, HEALING, PROSPERITY AND SECURITY
(Jeremiah 33:6, ESV) “Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.”
(3 John 2, NASB) “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”
2. SIN BLINDS YOU; WRECKING YOUR LIFE
(Malachi 1:2, NLT) “I have always loved you,” says the Lord. But you retort, “Really? How have you loved us?”
(Numbers 32:23, LB) “You may be sure that your sin will catch up with you.”
a. Sin defiles and incapacitates
b. Sin isolates
c. Sin exterminates
(1 John 1:7, NLT) “The blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
3. FAITH IS WHEN I AGREE WITH GOD
(1 John 1:7–9, NLT) “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
a. I’m not just healed; I am blessed with wholeness (Healthy Living)
(Romans 14:17, NLT) “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
b. I have real riches in all respects
(3 John 2, NASB) “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”
(Jeremiah 33:9, NLT) “Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see all the good I do for my people, and they will tremble with awe at the peace and prosperity I provide for them.”
GROWTHWORK
(Hebrews 13:15–17, NLT) “Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.”
