MAKE ROOM FOR CHRIST
Make Room for Christmas #4
Christmas Eve 2025
Pastor Dennis Clanton
Woodland Church
(Matthew 1:23, NLT) “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”
(John 14:9, NLT) “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!”
(John 1:14, NASB) “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
1. God is with me now
(Psalm 23:4, NASB) “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
2. God will be with me forever
(Psalm 136:1, GN) “Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good; his love is eternal.”
(Matthew 28:20, NLT) “Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:17-18, NLT) “We will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.”
“If Abraham dies, there is Isaac; and if Isaac dies, there is Jacob; and if Jacob dies, there is Joseph; and if Joseph dies, Ephraim and Manasseh survive. The Lord shall never lack a champion to bear his standard high among the sons of men. Only let us pray God to raise up more faithful ministers. That ought to be our prayer day and night. We have plenty of a sort, but, oh, for more that will weigh out sixteen ounces to the pound of gospel in such a way that people will receive it. We have too much of fine language, too much of florid eloquence, and too little full and plain gospel preaching; but God will keep up the apostolic succession, never fear of that. When Stephen is dying, Paul is not far off. When Elijah is taken up, he leaves his mantle behind him.” –Charles Spurgeon
(Luke 2:7, KJV) “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Will You Make Room for Christ This Christmas?
Herod was afraid of what he would lose. God is the ultimate giver
The religious leaders were satisfied with knowledge. Knowledge is essential but not sufficient
The shepherds laid aside good things for the best thing; they found Christ
(Luke 2:15–16, NLT) “When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.”
(Romans 8:14, NLT) “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
(John 13:34-35, NLT) “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Do you believe that Jesus is God’s Son?
Can you say, “I’m sorry for my sin?”
Can you say, “I’m ready to ask Christ to forgive my sins?”
Act on what you know to be true now
(Matthew 1:20-21, NLT) “As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
